Russia Carries Out Large-Scale Overnight Strikes on Ukraine

(MENAFN) Ukraine said that Russia carried out a large-scale aerial assault overnight, targeting critical infrastructure with 447 missiles and drones, most of which were intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses, according to reports.

In a statement on Telegram, the Ukrainian air force said the offensive began at 7 p.m. local time (1700 GMT) and involved missiles launched from air, ground, and sea platforms, along with strike unmanned aerial vehicles.

Air defense forces reportedly shot down or neutralized 406 aerial targets, including 24 missiles and 382 drones of various types. Preliminary assessments indicated that 13 missiles and 21 strike UAVs hit 19 locations, while debris from downed drones landed at three additional sites.

The attack primarily targeted Ukraine’s western regions, including Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, and Vinnytsia. Russian authorities did not issue immediate comments, and independent verification remains difficult due to the ongoing conflict.
