Ukrainian Website Includes Russian Paralympians to Controversial ‘Kill List’
The athletes added on Thursday are alpine skier Aleksey Bugaev, along with cross-country skiers Varvara Voronchikhina, Ivan Golubkov, Anastasia Bagiyan, and Sergey Sinyakin. They competed for Team Russia at the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Italy, where they won eight golds, one silver, and three bronzes, placing Russia third in the medal table.
Mirotvorets accused the athletes of “war propaganda” and “attacks on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” while also claiming they were “complicit” in Russia’s alleged “crimes” against Ukraine.
The website, which asserts that it operates independently but is linked to Ukrainian security services, has earned the label of a 'kill list' after multiple people featured on it were later murdered or died under suspicious circumstances. Each profile includes a “date of elimination” field under the subject’s birthdate.
